IAQ Building Science & Home Overview

In recent years, a growing body of scientific evidence has indicated the air people breathe inside their homes can be more seriously polluted with dangerous toxins than outdoor air in even the largest and most industrialized cities. The growing awareness of this issue is causing indoor air pollution to become a national health concern.

The issue is important because most people spend almost 90% of their time indoors. Other people, such as the elderly and infirm, may even spend close to all of their time indoors. The matter is serious when you consider that toxin levels in indoor air can be higher than what is permitted by federal regulations in outdoor air.
